Service Line Protection
Available to our Homeowners, Farmowners, Mobile homeowners (with tie-downs) and Dwelling Fire policyholders.
Bedford Grange Mutual’s Service Line coverage pays to repair or replace your homeowner-owned, exterior underground water and sewer piping, electrical service lines and data lines that fail and are damaged.
The program fills a critical coverage gap for you; the homeowner, who often don’t realize they are responsible for the repair or replacement of the outdoor underground service lines from the main connection usually at the street to their house, and behind their house to a well, septic tank, or an out-building when damaged due to a service line failure.
You may also have to pay for your damaged outdoor property such as trees, shrubs and driveways when damaged as a result. Know that service line failures are not covered by the typical homeowner insurance coverage forms.
You would be covered for a service line failure defined as physical damage that results in a leak, break, tear, rupture or collapse of a pipe or line. Physical damage can be caused by external events such as root invasion, deterioration, freezing and electrical arcing.
